WHY I CHOOSE TO GIVE BACK
Football gave me a life. It gave me moments of glory, joy, friendship, sacrifice, passion and unforgettable emotion. It taught me discipline, respect, resilience, responsibility and the importance of never walking alone.
Through football, I met people, crossed borders, experienced different cultures and built relationships that became part of my life. The game gave me opportunities, memories and lessons that no classroom could ever fully teach.
When life gives us so much, there comes a moment when we must find a way to give something back. That is why supporting humanitarian causes connected, directly or indirectly, with sport has become so meaningful to me.
For many children and young people, football is much more than a game. It can be a safe place, a source of discipline, a reason to believe, and sometimes the first real opportunity they have ever been given.
Through PBSDF, I want to help create those opportunities. I want young people who love football to experience some of what this beautiful game gave to me: hope, belonging, friendship, purpose and the belief that tomorrow can be better than today.
My role is not simply to support a Foundation. It is to help pass forward the opportunities, values and life lessons that football once gave me.
